I went and saw my OB today for my 16 week appointment. Miss Addison came with me and was the star of the office (obviously!) She had insisted on wearing her pearl bracelets as well as her little pink backpack, it was really too cute!
My b/p was nice and healthy at 100/58...I had been worried this week that it might be too high or too low as I have been getting migraines. My dr assures me though that the headaches are normal with all the hormones and changes you go through during pregnancy. We listened to baby snuffys heartbeat and it was steady at about 145...that is the number I get when I use my at home doppler too :) My dr said everything is looking great, my belly is measuring as it should. It was funny watching her take a tape measure to my pretty much non existent baby belly but she knew exactly what she was looking for. No weight gain since last time so she isn't too pleased with me about that but I've been eating what I can when I can so I hope that when this nausea lifts, I will be able to eat a larger variety of foods. For now though baby boy and mama are good, I'm still feeling him move every day (at least a few times) and we are counting down the months!

It's a...
Well we went and had our gender ultrasound done today. I've been feeling pretty sickly lately and have already vomited more in the past few weeks than I ever did with Addison. Up until about 2 weeks ago I was pretty sure baby was a boy but with all this sickness lately I started leaning towards girl. We got to the ultrasound office, Addison got a sucker and we waited our turn. When we were up, we were brought into this huge room with a projector that shines all of the live images on a huge screen, it was pretty cool to see the little bean so big! The tech put globs of ultrasound jelly on my stomach and asked if we had a preference of gender...of course Alex said boy and I said boy because Alex wants one! As soon as she put the probe on my belly, up popped baby, wiggling around and flailing its arms and legs like it was trying really hard to fly haha. No less than 15 seconds later she said "Well looks like Daddy got his wish!" We were both like wait what!?! She said, "see that there? Can't be anything else than little boy parts!" Alex had the biggest smile on his face after that!
We got to watch our little boy for 15 minutes squirming around, sucking his thumb and showing off allllllll the goods! Such a boy already! He got modest towards the end and closed his legs and turned into the placenta but we got a really great view of him and I'm still in shock that it is really a boy! I'm thrilled but I was just convinced after these weeks of sickness that we would find out we were having a girl! Now I can't wait to start shopping, picking out names and getting to September! Man that seems like a ways away right now!
We got a whole bunch of pictures on a cd and some black and white printouts that we want to share...

Kick Kick Kick
After much waiting and anticipation, my fetal doppler arrived yesterday! As soon as Addison and I got home from our playdate and she was all snuggled in bed for a nap, I tore open the box and laid down to listen to babys heartbeat. This doppler is the same one that I had with Addison and its pretty easy to use, it is just finding the best spot to hear the babies heartbeat. I found the little "thump thump thump" in about 10 seconds and breathed a huge sigh of relief! Its just a good feeling knowing that little one is still in there and doing well. The heartbeat was around 135-142 beats per minute which is perfect!
On another exciting note, I have felt little Snuffy move a few times in the past week! It's hard to tell at this stage what are gas bubbles and hunger pains and what is an actual baby kick. I've been feeling something these past few weeks but wasn't convinced until Monday night. Alex and I were laying in bed watching "Dancing With the Stars," (I know we are SO cool) and all the sudden I felt a distinct "kick kick kick!" I excitedly told Alex but I dont think he is convinced yet, sometimes with men seeing is believing ;) I have felt baby move each day since then but I really have to be paying attention to notice, they are still so slight. I can't wait until I can see this little one dancing around in my belly just by looking down...I think that was one of the coolest things about my pregnancy with Addison.
Sunday is the "big day," well one of many in the next 6 months but the one I've been looking forward to ever since I made the appointment a month ago. As long as baby snuffy is cooperating, we will know if its a princess or prince snuffy :D Please baby dont be shy!
