You are perfect!

Oh my little bean I love you so so much! Today was your first ultrasound and Daddy, sister Addison and I were all there to see the beautiful bean that is you and witness your heart beating with love. You are measuring right on schedule at 8 weeks and 6 days and your little heart is beating 180 times a minute! Holy Moly! I looked back through Addison's baby book to see if I had written down any of her heartbeat readings but unfortunately I didnt. I do remember she was consistently around 150-160 though and there is that "myth" that heartbeats consistently above 140 indicate a good chance of a little girl baby :). Dr says you are healthy though and that is all that matters! We are so thrilled that things are going smoothly and you are spending your time growing like you should :)

First Visit

Well today was my first prenatal appointment and everything went well! I felt like most of the appointment was spent answering their questions but I felt really comfortable while I was there and really liked the doctor. She called Alex and I "veteran parents" which we thought was funny as Addison is still so young but I did realize that I really had no questions or concerns today, unlike my first prenatal appointment with Addison where I spent the time talking the Dr's ear off :) After all the examinations the Dr thinks everything looks wonderful so far. She is sending me for routine bloodwork this week and we have our first ultrasound appointment of Snuffy next Tuesday! Cannot wait to see that little heartbeat!!!

Nerves and Nausea

Not to be a complainer but I've felt pretty miserable these past few weeks and it doesnt look like it is letting up anytime soon. Its hard to be pregnant and sick with a toddler running around who needs my UNDIVIDED attention, or so she thinks ;) The mornings and late afternoons are the worst, its pretty hard to function. I'm looking forward to my appointment with my new OB on Monday, I'm hoping I can get some Zofran to ease the pukey feeling, it was a lifesaver last time!
I'm getting a little nervous about my appointment on Monday, especially since it is a new doctor and new practice. With Addison I went to a great practice in Phoenix but unfortunately it is just too far to justify driving to now that we are living so far, plus I don't want that hour and a half drive to the hospital in labor again, yikes! I've heard good things about my new doctor and am looking forward to getting to ask the questions I have and hopefully get an ultrasound to see our little Snuffy!

I'm expecting!

Well baby Grieger #2 is on the way! Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks along and our first OB appointment and ultrasound is scheduled for February 15th at 9:30am :) We haven't told anyone yet, we just want to make sure that everything checks out at my first appointment and then we will start sharing the good news!
I took my first + test on January 19th and it was a very faint positive but it was there! I checked again a few days later to make sure and the + showed up in less than 30 seconds. I started having symptoms really early on (like 2.5-3 weeks along) The symptoms continue to intensify and I am not looking forward to the morning sickness that I am sure is just around the corner. For right now I'm just trying to handle the horrendous heartburn, hot flashes and inability to sleep.
Alex and I are thrilled and already love this little baby. We have appropriately named it "Snuffalufagos" after big sister Addison's fetus namesake "Big Bird"...we are sticking with the sesame street theme :)
We were not suprised about the pregnancy as we were planning for #2 but what we did fail to consider is the timing of conception...Baby's due date is September 29th 2010! ! 1 Day before Addison's 2nd birthday!!! We are sure in for a wild ride!
